Stakeholder Engagement and Planning Process Timeline & Survey

The Clarkston School District is committed to engage faculty, parents, and students as we analyze school reopening options and plans for the fall of 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. While the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has begun working on possible school reopening scenarios, preliminary guidance will not be available until mid-June. Additionally, as conditions surrounding the virus progress over the summer months, we anticipate further direction from the Governor’s Office, the Washington State Department of Health, and other jurisdictions, that will also influence options available to schools in September.

Based on timelines surrounding state and government communication, we expect it will be many weeks before clear guidance is provided to districts on fall reopening criteria. Rather than waiting until mid-to-late summer to initiate planning efforts when final direction is likely to be received, the Clarkston School District believes it is critical to begin our planning, research, and outreach now to ensure stakeholder engagement and inclusion in the reopening process.

Thank you in advance for your time, patience, and commitment as we work together on our 20-21 Education Transition Plan to best serve children. Please take the Fall 2020 Planning Feedback Survey. Thank you!
