Sexual Health Curriculum
In March of 2020, Senate Bill 5395 was signed into law, requiring all public schools in Washington State to provide sexual health education to all students. That law was brought before the voters via Referendum 90 in November of 2020. The voters affirmed the law that was passed and the requirement goes into effect, starting in the 2021-22 school year. It is important to note that parents have the right to opt their children out of any comprehensive sexual health instruction offered by the Clarkston School District.
A parent night to preview the 4th-6th grade sexual health curriculum will be held on January 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the Educator Support Center Board Room located at 1294 Chestnut Street.
