Snow Routes

Students need to be at stops 5 minutes early!

During the winter season, it is important you are informed about our snow routes and the expectations to ensure a smooth transition during inclement weather. Your child’s safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in making the process as efficient as possible.

Snow Routes Overview: When winter weather, including snow and ice, affects our district, some areas may become unsafe for regular bus routes. In these situations, we implement "snow routes," which include alternative stops for picking up and dropping off students. Special Education routes will remain unchanged.

If you have a designated snow route stop, please be ready on time. Unless contacted by someone from Transportation, if we arrive at your special stop and you are not ready, we will move on to the next stop.

Key Points:

  1. Early Arrival: Students should be at their designated stops 5 minutes early to ensure timely boarding.

  2. Winter Clothing: To minimize delays, please have your child dressed and ready for boarding, especially in winter clothing. This helps the bus stay on schedule, even in adverse weather conditions.

  3. Late Arrival Awareness: Understand that weather conditions may cause delays. Having your child ready reduces wait time during these situations.

  4. Opting Out: If you plan to take your student to school instead of using the bus during inclement weather, kindly notify transportation 15-30 minutes before the bus's scheduled arrival.

  5. Two-Hour Delay: In the event of a district-wide two-hour delay due to adverse weather and road conditions, snow routes automatically go into effect. Alternative stops will be used if specified streets are slick.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these guidelines. Your preparedness ensures a safer and smoother experience for everyone during winter weather conditions.

Stay warm and safe!
